(dba Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, our agency website may also be used for other purposes, including but not limited to site administration, troubleshooting, processing of e-commerce transactions, administration of sweepstakes and contests, and other communications with you. Certain third parties who provide technical support for the operation of our site (our Web hosting service for example) may access such information. We will use your information only as permitted by law. RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY
- PURPOSE
Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, Inc. (dba Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation) relies on the generosity of its donors to support the programs and services of Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Inc. (dba Lower Cape Fear LifeCare). We wish to provide “satisfaction guaranteed” for all donors who support our agency. In the event of purchasing an item through an auction or other method, or they have purchased a ticket to an agency event, the agency will make every effort to work with a customer/donor to their satisfaction.
- POLICY
We will gladly give a full refund for any item or donation within 30 days of making that purchase or gift within the following guidelines.
- PRODUCT PURCHASE REFUND
- We will gladly give a full refund for any item or donation within 30 days of making that purchase or a gift.
- Refunds requested more than 30 days after initial donation/purchase date will not be issued unless the transaction was subject to a fraudulent purchase.
- If they have received a product(s) that they are dissatisfied with, they are required to return the product(s) as part of the refund process.
- Customer will be notified to allow 3-4 weeks for their refund if made by bank-certified check or EFT.
- Refunds are made in the manner in which they were given. See below for Refund Timeframes.
- EVENT CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
The Agency reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or limit the attendance of any event. - If an event is cancelled or rescheduled by the agency, registrants will receive at least 24 hours notice, if possible, and the agency will offer a full refund and the option of making their purchase a donation to the agency.
- If the attendee cannot attend an event;
- First the agency will suggest that the donor give their tickets to friends or business associates.
- If they request a refund:
- Written notice must be received by the Development Department at least five (5) business days prior to the event. At that time a full refund will be issued in the manner in which the tickets were purchased.
- No refund will be given if cancellation is received by the Development Department less than five (5) business days prior to the event or after an event.
- Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Inc. (dba Lower Cape Fear LifeCare) cannot refund tickets to events that are not Agency controlled “signature” events.
- REFUND TIMEFRAMES
- Checks or cash will be refunded within 10 business days of receiving written notice.
- EFT and Credit Cards will be refunded within 48 business hours of receiving written notice.
DONOR PRIVACY POLICY
- POLICY:
To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in this agency they are asked to support. Donors will be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by the law. We will adhere to the Donor Bill of Rights.
Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Inc., dba Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, (the agency) and its employees will treat all information relative to patients, donors and the agency’s business as confidential, and employees will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge for breaches of confidentiality or violation of the organization’s privacy/security practices. Training in confidentiality is mandatory for all employees.

Definition of Terms:
- Confidential Donor Information – Information that concerns the Donor’s presence or relating to their donation history, personal finances, personal data, family situation is to be considered confidential, privileged and not subject to disclosure. It is to be discussed only by those involved in the planning and soliciting donations.
- Confidential Agency Information – Confidential information and types covered by the policy (electronic and computerized information, telephone and cell phone communications and verbal and faxed information. Information that is considered to be confidential is that involving the agency and its operation. It includes personnel actions, home addresses or phone, work schedules, salary or financial information and operational matters that would not be matters of public record. These may be discussed only in the normal course of business.
- Breach – A breach of confidentiality occurs when an employee of the agency reveals or makes available information that is confidential in nature to individuals who would not normally have reason or need to know or have access to this information.
- PROCEDURE:
- Confidential information may be related to donors, patients or to the business aspects of the agency. All information considered to be confidential must not be revealed in any way. This information is only to be discussed or used as required in the normal course of business.
- All Donor information is to be kept confidential unless there has been written permission given by the donor or appropriate family member for the release of that information.
- Information regarding employees will not be given (verbally or written) without permission of the employee.
- All inquiries from the news media about the agency or its donors will be referred to the Chief Marketing and Engagement Officer, President & Chief Executive Officer, or the Development Manager. It is not the intent of this policy to prohibit the disclosure of information that is routinely available to the public.
All information located in the agency’s information systems including Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge is to be held in confidence in accordance with the policies and procedures developed by the Information Systems Department.
