Veterans Memorial Gardens – Heritage and Brunswick Garden

We created a place in our Heritage Garden  and Brunswick Garden specifically to honor veterans. Our Veterans Memorial is an especially fitting tribute and reflects our commitment, as a Level 5 partner in the We Honor Veterans Program, to those who served.

Different tribute opportunities fill the memorial garden, including star markers on the base of the eagle, stepping stones along the garden pathway, garden benches, and flags representing our country, our state and the different branches of the armed services. The centerpiece of the Veterans Memorial is an eagle sculpture commissioned by local artist Dumay Gorham.

To learn more about sponsorship and tribute opportunities for the Veterans Memorial Garden in either Wilmington or Bolivia, please call 910-796-7900.

The John T. Dees, M.D. and Jenny L. Dees Heritage Garden in Wilmington, NC

Nature often speaks to us in ways that people cannot. Sometimes, sounds of comfort outweigh words of comfort. Patients, family and friends visiting the John T. Dees, M.D. and Jenny L. Dees Heritage Garden, on our Wilmington campus, find a beautiful space that feels safe, restorative, healing, strengthening, even empowering.

Continuum Tribute Wall in the Heritage Garden in Wilmington, NC

The Continuum Tribute Wall, located in our Heritage Garden on the Wilmington campus, was designed by Toby Keeton and Michael Kersting at Kersting Architecture. The structure is meant to reflect how the individual journeys of our lives leave an indelible mark on the world—as with nature, our journeys ebb and flow.

Butterfly Pavilion in the Heritage Garden in Wilmington, NC

Three different size butterflies, sculpted by local artist Dumay Gorham, float under the roof of the pavilion above a chrysalis sculpture.  Butterflies are a symbol of rebirth and transformation. The life cycle of a butterfly is marked by change; each stage – egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult – is radically different from what comes before. These butterflies remind us of the ever-changing stages of our lives.

These memorial tiles represent the sky, sand and sea. As the tiles are installed, we begin to see the long expanse of sky, sand and sea unfold.

Seasons at Conway, SC

Seasons is an expression of cherished moments and lives well lived. We celebrate, honor, and memorialize friends and loved ones who have given freely of themselves – their time, love, and commitment.

Together we can make a difference

We are the regional hospice of choice for thousands of patients. We are a nonprofit hospice, meaning we help everyone regardless of their ability to pay. This is only possible through the generous donations from people like you.

Funding goes to help us provide grief support, hospice and palliative care, capital needs, spiritual care and special programs for veterans.

To give, please call 910.796.7900 or give online. You may also mail your gift to: Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

Memorials & Tributes

“Rather than spread our charitable income among many nonprofits, we try to focus our philanthropic endeavors on one organization we feel would be a good partner in fostering growth and community. As a nonprofit that gives so much crucial support to the community, Lower Cape Fear LifeCare was an obvious choice for us. Also, many of our friends and loved ones have had that personal connection to hospice, so we understand the importance of the care they provide.”
