Veterans Memorial Gardens

Share:

Through memorials and tributes in our Veterans Memorial Gardens, you can honor your loved one’s service and create a lasting legacy by ensuring that your family, friends and neighbors always have access to the same compassionate care and support when facing a life-impacting illness.

We are grateful for our veterans.

We created a place in our John T. Dees, M.D. and Jenny L. Dees Heritage Garden in Wilmington and Brunswick Garden at our SECU Hospice House of Brunswick specifically to honor veterans. These Veterans Memorials are an especially fitting tribute and reflect our commitment, as a Level 5 partner in the We Honor Veterans Program, to those who served. It is highest level that can be achieved in the program, and was earned by meeting stringent criteria that exemplifies our commitment to Veterans i our community.

Different tribute opportunities fill the memorial garden, including star markers on the base of the eagle, stepping stones along the garden pathway, garden benches, and flags representing our country, our state and the different branches of the armed services. The centerpiece of the Veterans Memorial is an eagle sculpture commissioned by local artist Dumay Gorham.

Remembering your loved one by making care accessible to others.

Tribute gifts to the Veterans Memorials support Lower Cape Fear LifeCare’s We Honor Veteran Program across the communities we serve. Tribute gifts may honor a Veteran’s life or remember a loved one who has died. Gifts may be made at any time of the year. Tributes are celebrated during semi-annual Tribute Ceremonies that donors are invited to attend.
